  32. I am glad you and your Delphi product are so right for each other.

  34. There are 3 points of interest.
  35. 1) VB supports 32 bit NOW.  I have Delphi and you are right it is great. 
  36. I can drive sh*t out of VB and that has a GIANT impact on my productivity.

  38. 2) I note your EDU address.  Allow me to point out that in the real world,
  39. demand drives the market.  Most of the market has heard about VB for years
  40. and is comfortable with projects in it.  Most of the people I deal with
  41. have not heard of Delphi.

  43. I'd love it if someone would underwrite a project where I could learn
  44. Delphi, PB or enhance my C++ skills.  That is not how it works outside
  45. acedaemia.  You have to produce; you are expected to be competant, if not
  46. expert, in your field when you walk in the door.

  48. 3) Finally, consultants are VERY down on Delphi.  Many recognize it's
  49. inherent virtues.  However, in the BIG picture it is produced by the same
  50. company that had a great product in TB and abandoned it,the same company
  51. tha was on the verge of folding what?  13, 14 months ago?   These things
  52. matter in the real world, and ARE a consideration.
